Joseph Aaron Segal
Joseph Aaron Segal was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1982, and now resides in Providence, Rhode Island. He earned his BFA from University of Massachusetts and completed the MFA program in Textile Design at Rhode Island School of Design in 2009. Joseph currently teaches Industrial Knitting at RISD while working as a freelance knitwear designer and lead designer for his own brands, JAS and Pretty Snake. He has had the opportunity to collaborate, consult and design for a variety of fashion designers, artists, and yarn companies. In 2009 he launched his first high-end apparel collection, JAS, which features hand-made clothing created with specialty knitted and printed textiles. JAS is sold in boutiques in Providence RI, New York City, San Francisco, and Tokyo, Japan and has been featured in Surface and Fiber Arts Magazine.
