Nicole Lebreux
Nicole Lebreux was born and raised in Tiverton, RI. As a child, she fell in love with bright fabrics and sewing. Nicole graduated at the top of her class from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2005. After working in New York City, traveling the world, and running a successful vintage business, she founded her brand.
As she creates pieces, Nicole embraces the female form, the environment, and the local economy. She keeps southeastern New England’s dying tradition of apparel manufacturing alive by working with seamstresses in Bristol, RI and Fall River, Mass. Nicole’s garments are made from vintage, recycled, surplus, and other environmentally-friendly fabrics. She empowers women with vibrant colors and easy-to-wear designs.
Like her previous collections, Nicole’s newest line, expresses her design philosophy of fit, comfort and movement. She never uses zippers in her creations. For Autumn/Winter, Egyptian pottery influenced Nicole’s geometric and hard-edged designs. She screen printed her own pottery-like drawings onto organic-knit fabric and used it in some of her pieces. For this collection, Nicole experimented with zigzags and geometry. With her wraps and tops, she mimicked Egyptian dressing and silhouettes. Nicole advocates for sustainability and the handmade movement. Learn more at nicolelebreux.com.
