Style Ambassadors

Alex McCord and Simon van Kempen wear many hats – television personalities, authors, entrepeneurs and fashion mavens as well as co-parents of 2 endlessly energetic boys. They first became well known throughout four seasons on Bravo’s hit docu-drama The Real Housewives of New York City, syndicated on NBC daytime and also broadcast in 150 countries around the globe, with Simon being the first husband across all franchises to be considered a primary character.  Alex and Simon co-authored a book, Little Kids, Big City and between them make regular editorial contributions to People Magazine, Metro New York, Sulia and the Huffington Post.  In Fall of 2011, Alex and Simon launched Aluxe, their brand of bedding and bath linens for home and hotel, combining Simon’s 26 years in the hotel business with Alex’s design and merchandising background.  Their love of fashion is almost as strong as their love for each other, and one thing that Alex and Simon take pride in is discovering new designers.  They can be seen not only at the Lincoln Center tents each Fashion Week, but in all sorts of out of the way showrooms trying to find cutting edge style before anyone else does, and are thrilled to return to Providence as Style Week Ambassadors.  Alex was named “Best Dressed Overall” among all current and former housewives by Glamour Magazine.  Their daytime television appearances include expert panels on the Today Show, the Insider and Joy Behar in addition to Wendy Williams, Nightline, Huckabee, HDNet, New York Live, Access Hollywood, Extra, Entertainment Tonight, Rachael Ray, Better TV and Good Morning America.
